My pre-2000 LaPavoni Professional group casting appears to be slightly tilted relative to the boiler. The flange which is braised onto the boiler has two holes for the bolts which hold the group head on. The left hand bolt hole is approximately 4mm higher then the righthand hole, which causes the group head to twist a bit clockwise from the vertical. I have seen photos of other machines which appear to have this same twist. Does anyone know if this is standard? The flange has not been damaged or re-braised.
Thanks,
Sandy

Sandy - do you have a pic?

I use a La Pav Carina -- essentially a pre-Pro model with the same specs. Your description of the problem does not match my machine but the description of the configuration of the group sounds exactly right.

I'll find a pic of my own to post for you.

The pics as promised. I did a clean and refurb of this machine last winter if you want more pics and description.

I tried to upload a pic along with my original post, but after a few unsuccessful tries, I gave up. It turns out that the bolt holes in the group casting are oversized enough that I can twist the group anti-clockwise almost enough to get it vertical before tightening the bolts. I'm still wondering if the tilt of the brazed on part was intentional or just some Monday morning screwup at the factory.
