Lambro rebuild

Postby NelisB on Sun May 15, 2011 3:08 pm

I finally got the last two bodyparts back from the shop, so here some pics:

Special thanks to Henk at esw.nl for judging all the machines we found on the internet. This machine was a piece of cake to get in perfect condition. But also to Sebastiaan007 and of course Bluecold who came up with the idea of a single group commercial lever.

Ciao ciao!

That's a fantastic restoration. It looks brand new! Did you re-chrome it to get that shine?

Beautiful work Niels! That blue paint looks great can we see a shot of the back? Lambros are rare here in Canada but I'd love to get my hands on one.

Hi all,

I did not re-chrome anything. The original bodywork is stainless steel (18/8). I replaced three body-parts: The cup-tray, the front face and the skirt under the drip-tray. I had them laser-cut from "mirror stainless steel", the same material as Fiorenzato uses for the Piazza San Marco.
They group-head was polished (aluminum). The group itself has it's original chrome. The cap is also original.

The lever joint and the steam wand are the only new chrome parts.

The side-panels were painted at a local car paint shop.

I will upload some more pics: from the back and from the new cup-tray.

Cheers!
