La Peppina replacement heating element

Having learned a lot from this forum's archives during the past 3 years of constant La Peppina use, I am now posting in search for a heating element. Has anyone succeeded in finding one, other than from a donor machine?
Here are the symptoms of my element failure: for the past few weeks, the element would be slow to "turn on" after I switched the power on. When it did start, there would be crackling noises, which would subside fairly quickly. Preceding this process I would sometimes wiggle the plug, which was a somewhat loose fit and my presumed source of the problem. However, after cleaning the plug and tightening the pin-plug connection, the problem didn't improve (if anything it became worse.)
Today I brought home a multimeter, and found that the element has a 100kOhm resistance... so, not good.

You may start with

They made the electric heater element for my 9 kW roaster. I'm not sure if they do immersion models but probably can direct you.
