La Pavoni rust repair question

Postby jtfowl0 on Mon Mar 24, 2008 12:01 pm

I just rebuilt my La Pavoni Europiccola, and after removing the cover on the bottom, I noticed that there are a few very small rust spots inside of the base. I used some steel wool to remove the rust, and figured I should just paint the inside of the base to keep them from coming back. I was thinking about just using some Rustoleum clean metal primer (http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=35) but I don't know if this is the best product to use, especially since the base gets pretty hot. Is this stuff OK or is there something better? Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you got rid of all the rust it should be fine. If you're worried about the temperature, use a paint that is high temp (barbeque paint works well).
