La Pavoni Professional (older) filter basket size?

Postby EspressoGirl on Mon Sep 14, 2009 6:02 pm

I have the Professional and I bought it around 1993-1994. I know there were changes over the years. Recent other machine problems have caused me to try to use it again for the moment. I really need a tamper for it though. Does anyone know the basket size? I tried to measure it and it seems like something in the high 40mms. (47mm?). Does anyone know for sure? I don't see the spec on that anywhere. I think they increased the basket size in more recent models. This one is quite small and 12g makes it pretty full.

FYI: I am embarrassed to say I thought my machine was a Europiccola, having not used it for sooo long and having been given the wrong instruction book with it when I first got it (that was before I knew anything about espresso)--so if you see a recent post where I call it Europiccola, that is why.

Thanks.

My old LaPavoni just broke, it is from 1984. I have several baskets that came with the machine new and ones that I have purchased as recently as last year. I would be willing to sell them if you are interested.
