La Pavoni Pro not heating enough, bypass pressurestat?

Postby Jay- on Tue Dec 06, 2011 9:08 pm

My machine powers on but does not make pressure.
Gets warm not hot.

Today I bypassed the pressure-stat and its rolling full steam!

Ok, the copper tube was slightly clogged.
I managed to clean it out I think!

When its under full pressure, the copper tube only drips, should it be chugging the water out?

Where am I at in tracking the problem?
When I reconnect the power to the pressure-stat the machine just lights up and gets kind of warm,
bypassing the pressure-stat makes it work.

Whats broken and what do I order?

Thanks!

Gee, I dunno...
You think it might be the pressurestat?

If you replace the PSTAT, see if a Riviera one will fit your machine. It's supposed to be better quality. A good one to ask that is Stefano on this web site: http://www.espressocare.com/. He's an experienced Pavoni dealer and really knows his stuff.

Jay,
If you have an older Pro, your PStat might look like this:

These are easy to adjust - clockwise to increase. On mine, 1/8 turn caused about a .1 bar change.

I believe you can disassemble and clean this type, but I don't think you can get a rebuild kit for it if the membrane is shot. Stefano (mentioned in a previous post) would know.

Thanks for the help,

How much water should come from the copper tube?
Its dripping even at the full red bars of pressure.

hoooooooooooooooooooo

you have the pressurestat removed
WITH PRESSURE IN THE BOILER???????

good thing that your pipe is clogged by scale

or you will have a geyser in your face

try descaling the pipe
and never pressurize an open machine

I wonder why we haven't heard back from the OP, and hope he recovers fully...

The clog was removed by taking the tube out.
I was never in danger in any way.
