La pavoni pressure gauge adjustment

Postby mitmind on Wed Jul 27, 2011 5:31 am

Hi,

Recently I bought a second-hand 1994 La Pavoni Professional.

It looked nice from the outside, but the heating element is death and it was full of scale! The pressure gauge seams broke as well. Yes I know may be bad purchase but now is done so.... The fun part begins restore ! !

I have ordered a rebuild kit and a none OEM heating element but I don't know if the gauge is really broke or not With no pressure is on the 0,4 bar

It can be adjusted?

thanks

It can be adjusted?

Yes, but not with any degree of confidence in the accuracy after you make the "adjustment".

Remove the bezel, remove the gage needle using (preferably) a special tool called a gage needle puller (a clock repair shop might have one) and remove the dial face with the screws on the back side. If you don't see any obvious signs of breakage, apply one drop of light machine oil to the mechanism inside and reassemble with the pointer resting on the "0" pin.

Alternatively, buy a new gage.
Skål,
