Maybe it won't fit the old La Pavoni base perfectly, but I think the grill fits the plastic drip tray.
I'm getting one from Francesco in any case, as the base of the La Pavoni (1972) I'm restoring is in good condition but the paint is peeling off.
Have you disassembled the machines? Mine was even working, but I wanted to replace all the gaskets. Well, the sight glass was stuck and I've managed to broke it. At least all the other seals went off. I still have to remove the group brass sleeve and the heat element - the older one, screwed to the boiler. I'll try to use a tool to remove oil filter from cars.
My group gasket is the flat one, not the oring, and the group is the one directly screwed to the boiler - I don't intend to remove it as it seems very tricky. After removing almost every part I can chrome plating some parts that were very ugly, as the steam wand, pressure valve guard and sight glass guard.
Márcio.
