Looks like a Mater pstat, try another 1/4 turn toward the minus.

1/4 turn more gave 1.1-1.0 bar.

For those who might be interested, 3/4 turn toward minus => 0.9 - 1.0 bar

Hey guys! I am a brand new owner of an Elektra mcal! As of about a week ago!
I'm experiencing some same problems people are mentioning here though - boiler pressure is too high, and also now I just realized that the pressurestat needle is at almost .25 at normal, instead of 0. But I think it would still be too high even if I fixed the needle - it gets to 1.5, well in the red zone, so that would still be high even minus the .25 difference....

So, all these discussions about how to adjust the pressurestat are a bit like coming into a conversation half-way through. Everyone is talking as if one already knows how to even GET to the stinkin' pressure gauge thing. This is all new to me!
What do I take apart in order to adjust it? I need step-by step. I took out the drip tray, and removed that one screw... however, it seems to me that there is NO WAY that thing is coming off... I mean, it doesn't even look like it COMES off. I'll bend the metal before that thing goes anywhere. Nothing would budge. And then some guy on here had a picture where it looked like he took off the BOTTOM part of the machine. So now I'm confused. Can someone please tell me where to begin? :)

And the other thing, about the needle on the pressurestat being above zero - someone said they took the needle off and put it back on at zero... well how did you get TO the needle? How do you take that thing apart? I don't want to ruin anything so I'm not too keen on just rolling up my sleeves and trying to start taking things apart without some direction! :-o

Please help, because I need to get this boiler pressure thing fixed asap so I can truly begin using it and dialing in my espresso, and all that great stuff! :)

So if you could please explain it to me as if I were a 5 year old that would help.... LOL
Thanks!

This is the best way I've found to take it off. After you take out the screw under the drip tray, with the MCAL in normal operating position, on the very bottom of the machine, you will see/feel a small black plastic lip. It looks like a pad of some sort, and is under the machine right against the counter or wherever you have the machine. It goes all the way around the machine. You can probably just get some fingers on it. Push down on that lip with your fingers while pulling up on the machine. If you have a friend handy, one person can hold down the lip with both hands, say at position 4 and 6 if the MCAL base were a clock. Then have the other person can lift up on the machine. It may take some strong fingers the first time or 2 to get it off.

On my older Microcasa, there were 3 tiny screws holding the bottom rubber(?) piece in place. There was no screw under the drip tray.
