Gaggia Factory / Millenium Piston & Sleeve

Postby Bailey on Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:15 am

Hello,
My Gaggia Factory (106) machine has had some trouble with the plastic sleeve and piston, after reading a few threads here by owners of the Gaggia and La Pavoni Millennium with similar problems I intend to replace my plastic piston with the brass one. I've also seen a mention that after this replacement the plastic sleeve becomes unnecessary. Is this correct? If someone could shed a bit of light on this I'd greatly appreciate it. Mine is a tad bit cracked and if need be I will replace it but if it is no longer needed after installation of a new piston, even better!

Thank you,
B.

Both the plastic and brass piston are the same size...you still need the sleeve.

thank you for clarifying, it didn't entirely make sense that you wouldn't need it w/ replacement but i was a tad bit confused by the above mention.
