Frothing with pre-mil La Pavoni

Postby paulvin on Fri Jul 15, 2011 9:02 pm

With the three hole steam wand on the La Pavoni you're meant to position the steam wand in the middle of the jug - vertical. This seems to be a physical impossibilty with my machine as the steam wand doesnt protrude far enough away from the machine to get anywhere near the middle of the jug. The best I can do is turn the steam wand behind the machine but then the angle starts to get excessive and I lose the vertical component.

So I'm stuck between scolded milk and extingusher foam at the moment. Any ideas other than sticking a tooth pick in a hole?

Or am I missing something?

Check ebay or Orphan Espresso for a single hole steam wand tip. That will solve your problems. Also, the toroid steaming pitcher, from espro, is handy to have around.

Thanks Ray,

$10 including postage beats $55 for a new jug.
