First sneak peeks at new girl... 1977 Gaggia Compacta 82 Palanca

Postby mogogear on Tue Jun 20, 2006 6:40 pm

Ok, A couple of you have already seen these, sorry. I am still a day away from seeing her in person. Until now Hal is the only one that has been hugging on her

1977 Gaggia Compacta 82 Palanca (GX levers style) You know she is Italian with a name like that! Remember the red head romping in the fountain with Silvia (Anita Eckberg) in La Dolce Vita??? Oh, thats right, there wassss.. just a blonde..

Claimed to never have been installed. New / Old still in Box. All manuals, import documentation, PF, baskets, tamper electrical hook up breaker box, hoses included. Hal says the PF looks as if no shots has ever been there.
Ferrari Red and I pray she will fit in my kitchen

Her at a coy angle

Full Frontal.......

Sitting on the counter , with her back to you ( yep a chip in the paint - I think that is the only one , we'll see)

Her make-up case, jewelry and hair clips and some provocative reading,...... if you read Italian

All in all, not bad for 29 years old!!

Thanks for indulging me, It is really hard to try to work, then click to my computer to look at the pictures( for the 37th time), then go to my kitchen for the 10th time to measure my counter top ( it is still not growing to accommodate my needs) I will be seeing the Seattle members this week, we'll meet for the first time, eat some lunch I think, then I get to have a shot from two machines everyone has seen in some jpgs. provided by Dr Jim previously. Jims Conti and Hal's Termozona!!! :D

Thanks again to them both for their crucial assistance.

After I hug this gal for a couple of days etc, I look forward to getting her coat off and sharing what is underneath with you all.

Mo,

Cosmetically that surpasses most levers that I've seen for sale. Congratulations on your "graduation" to the commercial lever frat. I have to admit that I've been convinced that a commerical lever is the way to go ever since I read Dr. Jim's first post re: his Conti.

BTW, I've got a lot of counter space in case it doesn't fit -the barge for Juneau leaves Seattle every Tuesday...

Oh man, that is sweet. How can I convince one of the sponsors to put a commercial lever on The Bench... ? 8)

That is a great looking machine. If it doesn't fit on your counter, I know it will fit on mine.

Dan,

Why not give Bezzera a try - they still produce two very, very (did I say very) nice single group levers:

Gene at Vanelis has mentioned to me that he's visited the factory, might be able to help.

BTW, you've been nominated to the lever HOF:

Wow I am extremely jealous, what a nice machine. The only ones I can find for sale have already been worked on.
