A few questions about pavoni restoration.

Postby mthilen on Mon Sep 12, 2011 5:19 pm

I'm thinking about buying a non functioning la pav to restore. I was wondering how difficult it is. This is the machine I want to buy

I'm pretty handy, I just don't want it to turn into a nightmare project that never gets done. Any tips?

in the insulation tuck in the hole there is a thermofuse (middle of HE)
if the person that sold it didn't burned out the heating element the thermofuse will be an inexpensive fix ( those one you can find them a radio shack just match the color/temp rating)
all gasket are easy to replace and so is the sightglass

I have one that looks exactly the same. Mine is dated 1982. I change a few gaskets with relative ease. It works great. With relative little elbow grease I was able to clean it enough that it looks great but at the same time has the patina of age.
Did you end up buying it?
