False pressure turns off heating element too soon after startup of Olympia Cremina

When I fire up my Cremina the false pressure turns off the pressurestat way, way too soon. I have to open the steam wand and it just lets out the tiniest puff of pressure. After that it will heat up to full temperature. It's not a huge problem, but I don't like having to get back over to machine to do this while I'm getting ready for work. Anyone else experience this? Thanks

That's basically par for the course, depending on the age of your machine. My 1974 Olympia machine needs to be vented manually; my 1991 machine does so automatically. The difference is the boiler cap.
Here's an Orphan Espresso video describing the different caps:
If you have a cap that is supposed to vent automatically but isn't, just take it apart, clean everything and reassemble. If you have an old style cap and don't like tooting the steam wand, you can get a new boiler cap from Cerini Coffee:
