Faemina piston lower cylinder stuck

Postby rolleiman on Tue May 17, 2011 11:17 am

Hi all:
It is a tragedy, I bought a Faemina from ebay several days ago.
Althought the shipping cost for Faemina from Italy to Taiwan is 50.8 euro, it is reasonable.

and its condition is quite well ,but it is leaking, I have to restore it.
Carefully read Doug's rebuild guide, I failed to remove the lower cylinder ("camicia" in Faemina parts diagram), unluckly, I sent the machine to a rash iron smith to fix it.
Althought he used to restore one Faemina before, he seems to do it in the wrong way this time, the piston turn for about 1cm, as you can see in the picture, I marked it in red line, he seemed to turn it in clockwise direction, not the same as Doug's guide. The camicia stuck there, he cannot turn it a bit. We tried to turn it backward, but it also won't move a bit.

Any comment?? Should we destroy the camicia with drill as he suggested?? I am afraid it just get worse.
The camicia is already hurt.

The cylinder sleeve turns out CCW and tightens CW. Man, what a mess.
