Hi all could not find the answer on the forum search so though I would post a new topic.

Does anyone know what two pins are for at the back of the faema zodiac group? Have attached a diagram of the parts I am referring to. The reason why I ask is that I am thinking of rechroming the group and the replaters are hesitant to strip the chrome off via brass dip (i think that is right) as it will affect ( etch) the two pins that seem to be made from stainless steel. Is there a way of removing them?

I think the pins are just plugs left over from the machining of the group, those should be water channels they drilled and plugged. I always leave them in when chroming.

Thanks for the replies Paul and Zeb. Did you come across any problems with the pins when having the chrome stripped? My plater seems to think that the stripping chemicals might etch them hence I though about taking them out for the chrome stripping process but if they have no function them maybe it might be ok.
