Faema Velox piston disassembly

Hi all:
I decided to replace my Faema Veloxtermo spring, it seems that I made to the last step, the bolt through the axis is removed with the help of 2 clamps, but the upper metal part still could not be take away.
Anyone know what went wrong??

Only a guess, but is that a set screw at the front of the lever cap? My Microcimbali has a little screw in a similar place that must be released to free the lever cap and spring.

Hi,

Note that the piston body can be unscrewed from the piston rod - thus releasing the spring - without disassembling the lever.

do you know what tool to use to remove spring from piston rod?
If the axis is free to roate (as my state), is it still possible to open from piston rod?

Are there two holes on the bottom of the piston?
If so, a car parts shop may have a brake piston tool that will fit these holes, interfacing it to a socket wrench. That is how the CMA lever group is put together - ymmv.

There is no holes at the bottom of the piston.

Yuwen,

If I were you, I would recompose the lever/group assembly so that the rod is not free to rotate anymore.
I would then infiltrate the rod/piston screw with oil overnight, and eventually, I would unscrew the piston using pliers (the jaws of the pliers biting the middle groove of the piston).

you need to compress both sides of the spring with g-clamps, then undo the piston with a special open spanner....

I recommend you don't spray the piston with oil as it is EXTREMELY difficult to remove from the hole that links the two halves.

My guess is there is a burr on the piston rod, preventing the rod from passing thru the bronze bush mounted in the top assembly.Normally i would just remove the piston, using the tool below, known as a 'C spanner' Use it in the 2 slots in the top ring of the piston assembly.It unscrews counter clockwise (standard thread)

I went to a motorcycle shop yesterday, the boss use a hand made tool (double side with hook), but the axis is not fixed, so we failed, but it raised another problem, I cannot push the axis back with my clamps, it struck at half way, it puzzled me,maybe the axis is rotated to an angle that is not designed to, anyway,I will go to hardware store for c spanner , maybe try to rotate axis to it's old angle, if it doesnt work,Houston..we have trouble.
