The boiler will be copper with brass end plates.
Assume you will also need to replace the aluminium hoops, and there's a risk you may need to replace a boiler end-plate (these can be a little more expensive). I'd replace the PSTAT with a new sirai if it was me, install a thermal breaker also, an anti-vac valve... And there's gaskets, seals, high-temp wire, stainless bolts, new element etc..
If anyone knows where you can get a replacement front glass for $100 then please pipe up. They are around though and pop up on ebay from time to time.
I concur with the earlier comment about the practicalities of running one of these in a domestic setting. Here in the UK I find that a 230V-2400W element is the maximum for a regular plugin and socket arrangement. Any more than this and strickly speaking it should be hard-wired.
I have a machine that has what appears to be a 230V-2400W element and wondered why I had to replace the wall socket when the switch stopped working. Turns out the switch had melted inside. I measured the element and determined it actually had a running output of 2800W (I had wondered why it came up to temp quicker than my other machines).
You tend to have to accept there will be a bit more expense than first appears. It will be worth it however, I've had my President twin group 10yrs and I'd never part with it.

I swear I'd seen it for about $80 AUD on some Austrailian parts website. I wonder it you could get one sourced from a dealer who carries the E61 Legend machine, it's the exact same part.dmccallum wrote: If anyone knows where you can get a replacement front glass for $100 then please pipe up. Nouva Ricambi .de carry the front glass panel for 108 euro.

That's a bare glass and you'd have to do your own decal but there are people here who can help you with that.

What dimensions did you give them for the glass? Or did you provide them with a broken one for reference?leverlover wrote:I had mine made at a local glass shop for €60,= (around US $ 65,=).

Thank you for all your help, obviously there will be a lot of assistance if I decide to buy. That decision I'll need to make in the next hour or so. Turns out that the current owner has never used it - it came with the restaurant he just bought. The previous owner told him that it did work until the heater broke. That gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe the element isn't actually broken.
As for it being 220V - that's fine by me, my La San Marco is 220V as well - so I'm all good. Well, actually, I seem to be having an issue about that - but that's another thread.

As to what the boiler material is, maybe nickel plated copper?
Nice project but looks like a complete disassemble.
The glass, if not able to source a replacement, might be able to be custom made.
Nice find!

Congrats! Too bad it cant make coffee for you on the drive home.
We are going to have to start a "Faema President Owner Experience" thread or something like that with the number of President owners on HB lately.
