Europiccola heating element sealing problems

Postby Dave6000 on Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:05 pm

Hi all,

I'm brand new to this site and I searched the forum archives to see if this question had already been answered, but didn't find anything. My apologies right off the bat if I missed this.

I have an old Europiccola (60's vintage) in great shape but the old screw-on element is kaput. I've been considering converting the machine so that it will accept the new style stainless steel bolt-on element but I read online somewhere that the new elements don't seal well on the older machines.

I'd be very interested in hearing about any sealing problems (or any other problems for that matter) encountered by folks who converted their old europiccolas to the new heating elements.

Thanks,
Dave

First you need the fine thread boiler flange nut with the bolt on holes. Then you need the dual heat element, stainless or brass if you can find it. Seals for the boiler to base and seal for the element. The kicker is the fine thread flange nut and possibly the tool to remove/install it.

Thanks Doug. Using the new flange and seals, will the new stainless steel heating element clinch to the boiler without a problem?
