Europiccola doesn't power up

Postby bobby yarrow on Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:26 am

This morning, while I was preparing to steam, there was an emergency and I left my machine for a couple of minutes unattended. It now doesn't power up. I've looked around, and I can't find anything that looks like my machine inside. Here's a pic:

I see 1 burned wire, but no fuse or anything that looks like any of the pics I can find online.

Please help. Thanks.

I am not at all familiar with your machine, but I would take a look at the red covered wire. I believe you will find the red covered wire is an inline fuse. If you have access to an ohm meter, you can check it to see if it has blown. If good, it will read a few ohms, if bad, it will read infinity.

Right you are! THANK YOU!

(Can I just cut the fuse out and hardwire it, as a temporary fix? The fuse is just a safety thing, right?)

DO NOT RUN THE MACHINE WITHOUT THE PROPER FUSE!

Put a fuse in it or you may really hear the sirens!

Bob, I'm in your debt! It worked!

Quick trip to radio shack, and -- amazingly -- I'm back in business. (Fuse installed and all.) Enjoying the sweet success right now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Enjoying my evening cup, feeling grateful to you again. Thanks a million -- I was getting nowhere on my own. And missus yarrow thanks you for making me put the fuse in . . .
