Europiccola Basket ID

Hey all,
Picked up a pre millenium europiccola on ebay for a rebuild, and from what I can tell from looking at pictures and youtube, I'm pretty sure basket I have is NOT a double basket (meaning I need one when I place my big orphan espresso order :D ). Thought I'd query the vast HB knowledge just in case.

And if its not a europiccola double basket, wtf is it??

Hi there, and welcome to HB.Thats the shower screen, held in place by the group gasket on these.

As mentioned above, that's the dispersion screen. It doesn't go in the portafilter. It should go up into the ground head and then a large O-ring should hold it in place. The O-ring is what the portafilter lip locks up against, when you install the portafilter into the group head.

So that screen needs to go into the bottom of the group head first, then the O-ring next.

Alright, that makes more sense now, I guess the previous owner really had no clue because there most definitely is a dispersion screen where it should be on the grouphead. They really must tried hard to jam that screen in the portafilter, weird. Make me kind of nervous about what else I'm gonna find when I pull it all apart next weekend.
