Elektra Microcasa a Leva questions

Postby JitterBug on Fri Jan 28, 2011 2:19 am

Hello:)

This is my first real espresso machine,I had a krups before this :O

I have a few questions please.

1)what does the light on the side indicate, the round one not the power switch?

2)the needle rests at 1.75,is that normal?

3)Brew temp:does the red area on the gauge represent optimum brew temp?Water temps within this range does not seems hot enough,at 1.75 water temps are around 180 degrees.

4)Water:should you purge the water after each use?

Thank you

Hi Tommy and welcome.

1. This light - on off on off means your pressurestat is cycling.

2. No - it's way too high. It should be .9 or 1 bar maximum.

3. The gauge indicates pressure not temperature. If the needle is in the red you need to adjust the pressurestat to lower the pressure. See above. How are you reading the temperature?

4. No.

That pretty much sums it up.

If you want to send me your e-mail address by private message I can send you the Elektra manuals by e-mail.

Cheers

Hello and thank you Dr Dregs and Michael:

Hi Tommy and welcome.

Thank you

OK

2. No - it's way too high. It should be .9 or 1 bar maximum.

I see,that's interesting.

3. The gauge indicates pressure not temperature. If the needle is in the red you need to adjust the pressurestat to lower the pressure. See above. How are you reading the temperature?

How do I adjust that?

Im taking the temp of the water after I pour a shot of water using a digital thermometer.

Thanks HB,found it,did it,6 turns counter clockwise,no dice,it still goes to 1.75 and sits there...Maybe it's time for a new switch,it is from 1990.

Where can I order switch and possibly graphics,ie:replacement sticker, maybe the emblem instead.
