Since acquiring my Elektra I have had an idea that I could convert it to a non-spring lever machine. To accomplish this I would mill and lathe a new cap for the grouphead. It would reverse the function of the roll pins using the same rod, make a new yoke, and I would make a new piston rod like a La Pavoni's included the threaded end with adjusting nuts.

What got me thinking about this is that the top of the grouphead is removable via two machine screws.
There isn't even a seal to worry about.

Is this an old idea that someone has had already? What do you think? My rational is to have more control over the pull, like I do with my La Pavoni.

Doug? Anyone?

Take a look at this before you do too much changes to your machine.

Can anyone venture a guess of what this is?
