Elektra Microcasa Drip Tray Cover Measurements?

Postby VJHardcore on Thu Mar 18, 2010 9:48 am

I'm rebuilding a Microcasa I picked up - I have to order a few parts from Stefano including a drip tray - But I have a buddy that wants to make me a polished stainless drip tray cover. Could someone please supply me with exacting measurements? Diameter, thickness, bevel etc. Any pictures would be awesome so I can see edges and hole location etc.(Machines only a couple years old, never used but missing a few parts)

And wow - why is eagle on top so expensive?!! Ahhh!!!

Thanks!

Mike - if no one has responded by tonight, I'll measure mine and post. You may want to consider a brushed stainless finish unless you plan to always pull into glass/steel shots and then pour. Ceramic cups will scratch any drip tray finish in short order. Either way should look nice.

The eagle's expensive because it's cool 8)

My tray measures 132mm in diameter and the outer rim before the impression measures 5 mm.

Mike, very sorry with the slow delay. My machine is in pieces in storage, and it took me a lot longer than I wanted to get it out and find the drip tray. I didn't have a metric ruler handy, but my drip tray cover has a diameter of 5 7/16 inches, and is approximately 1/16 inch thick (not sure what gauge, but pretty heavy). The large hole (for the 3 way valve return) is about 3/4 inch diameter, and the other holes are about 1/4 inch diameter. You can see that the holes are dimpled as well to encourage quick draining. The ridge underneath holds the cover in place, and is about 1/8 inch deep on the underside.

As mentioned earlier, the driptray cover gets scratched up quickly if you use ceramic cups. Mine is also a bit dirty  .

Here are a couple of pics:

Let me know if I can help any further.

Thanks guys - I still have to get my machine back from my father who is going to be rebuilding it. It needs about $4-500 in parts; broken and / or missing. Sounds like a long time away but the plan is to have it for our new home house warming party in July. I'll keep you updated.

I that ridge just inside the edge may be an issue. Is it needed to keep the plate in place?
