That's me. Honestly, I NEVER expected to win this machine and I am wondering what I have gotten myself into. I will post pics when it arrives, and then throw myself on your (all of you) collective mercy.

I absolutely know that I am NOT up to a big restoration job. Sheesh, I've barely figured out the opposable thumbs thing

HOW good you did will be determined by what you find in your box.... I would say you DID GOOD! Cathy. Good luck and have fun being excited waiting for your machine.

Thumbs are over-rated on some things...

Guess you don't really need them to push down that lever. Thanks for the encouragement.

Cathi,
Welcome to the Ebay/Cremina adventure! I am sure any problems that you encounter can be solved on this site. Cost and parts may be another story but we will cross that bridge if and when it is necesary...
Once again congradulations and welcome to the Cremina theme park...

Thanks to you all for the "thumbs up" I am anxiously awaiting delivery, but it will most likely be a full week from Monday, as package is travelling from coast to coast.

Timo if you're following this, obviously I decided NOT to hold out for the Lusso. I really didn't think I'd be able to score one for under the cost of a new Lusso, but the Fates were (hopefully) smilling on me.

In case you missed the action, the rebuild '88 Cremina went unsold. The highest bid was $510, not enough to meet the reserve. Is this Cremina value death watch or just a fluke?

Ebay works a bit like Vegas - people can get caught up in the bidding process, and there is an element of stochasticity in the outcome. I've had it happen myself during the final seconds of bidding for hand grinders. Yours looks like an exceptional Cremina - I'm surprised the bidding didn't go higher, but it might next time.
