Hi, so I'm having some issues pulling shots on my Cremina 67. I just replaced all the seals in the group (the lever action is now nice and smooth again!) and now can't seem to get a shot out without a tremendous mess. Basically my shots seem to drip, sputter, and spray their way out now. I backed off the grind a notch and got a bit more reasonable pour but continued to get sprays. The most recent shot was really quite tasty though so I'm hesitant to keep backing off the grind. (And at this point I'm highly caffeinated and have to stop pulling shots ;) I noticed putting the portafilter into the group is much more challenging with the fresh seal. I don't know too much about the mechanics of all this, but would the much tighter seal I'm getting on the group cause this? Could I have put something back together incorrectly? Do the new seals just change the mechanics enough I have to readjust the grind/tamp? I'll play with it more each day of course, but any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

Where are your sputters drips and sprays coming from sage? Is it from the group/filter seal? Is it from the spout? By the way.. I know exactly what you mean about having to stop pulling shots.

The are all coming from the dispersion screen (naked portafilter) and I am having to press harder than prior to the seal replacement. I'm going to back off the grind yet more and see how it goes. If that fails I'll take the group off and see about reseating the dispersion screen I guess.
