Cremina 67 pressurestat replacement

Postby davidl14 on Wed Jan 23, 2008 9:10 pm

I just received a replacement pressurestat for my Cremina 67 from Jim at 1st Line Equipment.
It came with no instructions and a note on the invoice stating no support and no return(an accomodating sole). It's different than the original one pictured on HB with the brass adjustment wheel. This one has an English Burgess made bakelite box at the bottom which has no visible electrical connectors. It's connected to the brass plumbing unit above with a red rubber covered "shaft". Also, I see no way I can adjust the pressurestat. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Greg's correct; post a photo so we can see what you've got. Or, better yet, call Jim. Although 1st Line's website is pretty clear that pressurestats are not returnable it's possible you've received the wrong item.
I wasn't born in Texas, but got here as fast as I could!

What is the listing/part # from 1st line so that we can look it up and see what you purchased. You might also call 1st line and explain your dilemma.

I entered 04 0155 10 00 into 1st lines search engine and sure enough it came up with a Cremina listed part and NO PICTURE...! :x

I am sure if the part does not look like the one you have in your machine...you have probably been shipped a bogus part. I would call them "on-the-carpet" on this one. For the price they charged you they had better get the part right or refund you what you paid. Cremina parts have not regularly been available from 1st line and I doubt they ever had the right part. FWW
Dave's Cremina originally ( as sold to him) had a CEME pressurestat that had the adjust device knocked off. His heating element had been replaced. I could not help him further.
He was told by 1st line that they would make a special listing for him to buy one of their remaining PS's for the Cremina.

So as with all I await a photo of what they sent.
Best of luck to all!

Jim at 1st line spoke to me reluctantly and I was informed that I was receiving one time help. To set the record straight, I have purchased hundreds of dollars from 1st Line including a Mazzer Mini, a brass La Pavoni, coffee etc. Apparently, the electrical connections are beneath the cover at the bottom of the black bakelite piece. Pressure adjustment is made at the top of the unit, near the plumbin connection, with a tiny recessed slotted screw. It's going to be quite a feat to connect the two wires from the heating element since the wires fit in groves with only enough room for the bare wires to be connected to the two screws since there is not enough room for a connector. With the connections at the bottom of the pressurestat, it's not going to be easy t make the connections. Any ideas?
Thanks for your patience with this novice.

Not to be a double "pain" , but there are lots of people here to help you with more ideas than you can shake a stick at... but that picture will help them - help you.

I need to join the digital world. I'm going to make a concerted effort to learn digital photography and the skill to send it. At age 75 it's tough to make changes. Possibly thats why I make espresso with old technology.
I want to thank all of you for your help.
