"Creaky" La Pavoni

Postby F.M. on Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:47 pm

Just curious.... my Pavoni has begun to make a slight "creaking" noise as I pull the lever down through it's stroke. Not sure if this is something I should be concerned about or not? I can't quite tell if it's coming from the lever mechanism itself, or from within the group head (where the sleeve is). There is some residual food-safe grease at the top of the lever assembly.

Machine works wonderfully otherwise :D

No worries...very common "problem". It's your pins and roller for the grouphead that need lubing. Once lubed it'll be smooth as silk. Recommend Dow 111 food safe lube found here.

Even better, for the pin and lever is Orphan's Pin Oil: http://www.orphanespresso.com/index.php...ts_id=1305
