Could someone help me identify this Pavoni? Is it a 8 or a 16?

ImageCan't remember the proper model names but I want to know if this is the 16 (or Professional) ?
It has a pressure gage (barely visible) and seems to have the larger boiler so I am presuming it is a Pro but if there is someone out there with a good sense of this I could do with some reassurance, as it might just be an 8 with a pressure gage. Thanks as always, Patrick.

Generally if it has a pressure gauge it is a Pro (16) although it is theoretically possible to retrofit a Europiccola with a gauge although it seems to be more trouble than most people would be willing to go through. You can see photos of all the models through the Pavoni website if that would help.

I can't tell for certain from the picture that it isn't a retrofitted Europiccola, but I'd be surprised if it weren't the pro model.

That's my guess as well.

Old style pro. It probably has an extra switch on the side to alternate between pressures within the boiler.

Judging from the size/diameter of the boiler relative to the size of the base - and from the presence of the gauge - I'd also say Pro...

Thanks everyone, I don't have a pro so my feelings for the dimensions are kind of lame. It does seem to have the same relationship boiler base relationship as a pro so I guess I'm good. Thanks again, Patrick.

Looks like a pro sitting on a clothes dryer. I hope you get a good deal on it.

that is 99.99% a Pav Pro, 16 o boiler.

I own one, use it at work, it's the same, mine has a black plastic base (ugh) but otherwise identical.

Good luck on the deal. One thing I can advise you, as a daily user of the Pro, is that although it has the larger boiler than the Europiccola, the effective operating range is actually much narrow than you'd think. IMHO, the actual effective range of the machine is constrained to 1/4-3/4 full, or the middle, um, quartiles of the total boiler capacity. Lower performance outside the range. And, as usual, Pavs come with the (over)heating issue. However, patience and technique (which I lack) can overcome these quiddities....

The dryer, I can't ID for you. Maytag?

The larger boiler on the 16 touches the drip tray, the smaller boiler on the 8 has a one inch space between the boiler and the drip tray. It's a 16.

Looks like a nice one! A pre-millennium in good shape is hard to beat.
