That restoration looks first class! I had my cup rail powdercoated and it came out very nice. Another option is to use sandpaper to give it a brushed look.

It is like new. If you haven't yet tried it, the steaming is very powerful. You may find it difficult to steam milk at that angle and may be better off loosening the nut and turning its position more vertical.

Superb job. I just love the boxy machines form the late 60's and 70's.
