Cappuccino Amore manual?

Postby lafleurette on Sun Nov 27, 2011 10:00 pm

Hi all,
I have a Cappuccino Amore that I got from my father, but he no longer has the manual. Does anyone have one they would be willing to share? I'm trying to get it cleaned up and want to learn how to use it properly.

Looks like the folks at Orphan have some experience with the machine, so you could probably email them. http://www.orphanespresso.com/Cappuccin...547-1.html

It looks to be a typical lever machine like a la Pavoni, except with a spring. You probably
1. fill it 90% with water
2. turn it on
3. bleed the false pressure from the wand after 10mins. and again in 2 mins, until steam comes out.
4. Wait until the group is hot
5. grind/dose/tamp
6. lock the pf in.
7. Lower the lever to let water in, and hold for a couple seconds to preinfuse
8. then release, and let the spring do it's thing
9. adjust grind/dose for the next shot, etc.

Some people will pump it a couple times to put more water in the shot and to help pre-infusion.
Keep in mind, I have NO experience with a spring lever, so these are just educated guesses. You can't really mess anything up as long as the machine is full of water.
You will probably have to at least replace all the gaskets fyi, so be prepared for some leaks.

Thanks! You answered my question about the lever... most of the other instructions I've seen say raise the lever to let water in, then lower to pull the shot. Couldn't figure out what was wrong with my machine that it always stayed raised!
