Can I restore this Pavoni Europiccola?

Postby Maskedman on Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:56 am

Hello all,

Is it possible to restore this Pavoni, it looks kind of banged up - but it's only around ~$100?

Kind regards,

Looks complete and in fine fettle except for the crooked group (Not my imagination - is it?). Straighten that up without damaging the boiler and it should be an easy restoration.

I would not bother with the original brass and copper finish. All chrome is more practical and will be a cheaper restoration. Looks better too but that's just my personal preference.

I like the wood bits. They will also look really nice with chrome.

In the 2nd pic looks like the group is crocked to the boiler....if so that is pretty messed up and speaks to either a bent boiler or a bent group. Either might be irreparable. For $100 it is worth a try, if you can't fix it the parts should bring in that much. How banged up it looks is not the problem....new seals, heating element and P stat ( if all are broken) can set you back some $.

I would buy that for parts alone.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The seller says that the brewhead is a bit crooked, but everything is working perfectly.

I was hoping for an easy restoration, but I'm not so sure anymore :)

just the wooden handles on that thing alone are probably worth $100+ if you clean them up a bit!

a couple of hours with some "Bar Keeper's Friend" and some paper towels and that thing will look brand new I bet.
