If the bolts were a bit shorter I would say it is some sort of "made up" hose clamp. It looks similar to the clamps heating contractors and plumbers use in hangers for hanging and supporting copper pipe. But don't tell me... it is a part of a old brass door knocker... :lol:

It could be a sort of portafilter, clomped onto the basket, and the to the group screen.....?

Clamps to the basket to hold it in place while knocking out grounds? Or, a holder for installing Christmas lights on your espresso machine? Or, something you picked up last weekend at a garage sale and you're just playing with our minds?
