Thanks, Max since cut away a conical frustum on each side.dumpshot wrote:I think it looks great! Nice work.

Each of them is 1/8th of the total width.
Better fit when butting against the metal end pieces allowing for handle rotation.
Here it is being created in process.

I'd have to call this kit complete. VAM 1.1 with Caravel canister and accompanying grinds spoon.
One off machined tamper. Red 3D printed funnel designed by member Max from Switzerland.
Grill out of the picture. I placed the grill off to the side so I can fit my taller espresso cups.

I've had two VAMs and both have been the 1.0s with the dreaded 'no-hole' piston. The 1.1 to me is the best possible Arrarex - VAM build quality with the superior piston configuration.

It was a P.I.A. crazy4espresso (Nelson) has a nice pick\pointy chisel set and performed some magic on a visit to his place.
It involved soaking in penetrating oil and knocking out pin with hammer and metal pick\round chisel. Plenty of elbow grease needed.
Except for cost don't why they didn't go with a small set screw solution.

I like the heaviness of the VAM's but find the early Caravel's 1.1 & 1.2 to be the most temperature stable once dialed in. The edition of the little metal temp knob makes for an easier and more percise setup than the VAM's.grog wrote:I've had two VAMs and both have been the 1.0s with the dreaded 'no-hole' piston. Past 1.2 the quality and features dropped including the removal of the boiler knob which was replaced with a push lever. Tried a 1.3 and noticed a marked difference.

Hello again everybody!
I managed to choke my Caravel today, switching back to Woseba blend from a nice single origin.
@Pafcio0, I noticed you are too from Poland, what city do you live in? From the out the window view in your video I could make a wild guess you are from a certain part of Łódź...

The setup has changed a little - monstrous Fiorenzato F6 took the place of Eureka. Deffinetely not thinking about any other machine so far
