It does come off but first you must remove the "C"-clip using a c-clip removal tool. Use search engine to find one. I have both a VAM and early Caravel which I've used the tool with.

I search around piston but can't find the C-clip. Can you help point out where the c-clip is ?

Below is the pictures of my VAM's piston

If you have a first gen VAM - the 1.0 without a hole in the face of the piston - it does not come off. There's no tiny inner o-ring hence no need for a circlip inside there.

You might have to get a seal set from OE or the non-silicone ones from Francesco and install one of those on the top seal position. It will be kind of a wacky hybrid but should work.

Here is a link that Francesco Ceccarelli has posted on his site regarding seal replacement.

Could you also provide the outer diameter (including rim)?

Has anyone successfully removed the piston body on a 1.0 VAM? I'm referring to the earliest versions with no hole in the piston face.

In case any of you Caravel owners are interested, I created a funnel for it. More info here: Funnel models for 3D printing

Since I saw a request to keep the 3D-printing discussions out of this thread, I invite you to comment and ask questions in the thread linked above.
