Are there good or bad production years for Olympia Cremina?

Postby markmosk on Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:02 am

Like all things, some years, the company nails it and others they make lemons (83-84 I think were trouble with the electrical or transmission on Volvo 240s for example (( I bet there are lots who have the cremina and the 240, among other designs I could put in this category)). Being one of I'm sure many who scopes these out on Ebay, where buyers know to mention serial numbers, I'm curious how useful this info is. If condition is good and it works fine, are there other quirks of production years I should avoid...or seek out.

thanks in advance Cremina geniuses worldwide.

To my knowledge there are no bad years for the Cremina - the one & only 'bad' thing is the earlier models had boiler insulation that is said to have asbestos in it - pre 1983.
