www.ptscoffee.com: without the love, it's just coffee

It bothers me because I can't push the handle round more than a couple of mm. I'm afraid I might me damaging the group by forcing it in. If I don't push it around far enough, there's also a danger of the PF slipping out as I pull the lever down. This results in quite a mess, not to mention a broken cup and dislodged dispersion screen. Odd though, that you are unable to get yours in at all.

If it doesn't work- ....don't do it. Damage- injury-mess.....The MCal baskets are too deep for some PF and some not--- It is unfortunate but you might just revert to the obvious and buy some LP baskets...

Thanks. I do have the Pavoni baskets too. The MCAL baskets hold a lot more coffee tough. That's why I like using them.

Mine apparently is too deep. I tried lessening the od of the flange as you noted before, albeit using a different method which may have exacerbated the basket not fitting under the grouphead. I reverted to the obvious and bought a LaPav basket from partsguru.com along with a full gasket/refurb kit from them. Unfortunately I haven't had time to use the new basket and compare against the MCAL basket.
