I played french horn for a number of years (Akron and nearby orchestras, then Guangzhou) and am now studying acupuncture and tuina here in Hunan.

Well, tuina is basically a type of massage, but it differs from most western massage in that it is used to cure illnesses rather then just to relax. (which isn't to say that stress and disease are not related!) It goes hand-in-hand with acupuncture 'cause they are both based on the theory of Channels and Collaterals.

Thanks for asking! :)

Nice thread... and a lotta 'brains' here, as was pretty obvious.

I'll throw a couple of my meager creds in here too.

Grew up taking things apart to figure out how they worked... and making a lot of my own, particularly electronics and/or computers.

Have worked as an electronics technician in assembly, test, and repair of PC boards for a small tone-signaling devices company.

Have been working many years mainly on the IBM AS/400 (now i5) platform, with the Windows platform, as a Business Analyst/Administrator focusing on automation, system integration, security, and high availabilty. Currenty work for a specialty insurance company in northern California. My work has had me living in Spokane, WA as well as Omaha, NE.

(Dan, I've come "this" close to going to Triangle Park a couple times... If one of these times I do, I'll have to look you up)

REAL Job.

I'm a student. Finishing up my degree in Philosophy in about a year.

I have worked a few jobs, including a few barista jobs along the process.

Decided to start doing training and consulting in the region since it appeared there aren't many people doing it right, and even fewer who really know what IS right.

We'll just call that my play job, but really, it's a way to keep me in the business until I finish school.

I have a couple of offers on the table, but nothing in TX yet, and that's what I really need.

We'll see what happens.

Up until recently, I was Audit Manager for the UK arm of the largest Food & Beverage manufacturing company on the planet.

I've since moved on to be the Business Risk & Continuity Manager for the same company, only now I work further afield and do work for the Swiss Head Office.

Last week, I was in Russia [God only knows how they got men and hardware into space!].
I snapped this a few metres on after being told by the guard not to take any photographs.
To emphasise this, he pointed his finger in a pistol gesture to his head.
