I know it's early, but volunteer sign-ups have started for the SCAA Expo in Portland next April. H-B'ers who volunteered in Houston last year had (I've been told) great experiences. So, if you want the widest choice of assignments, take a look now.

This year there is a bigger incentive to volunteer, because show floor ticket prices have gone up. 10 hours of volunteering can get you a 3-day trade show and lecture badge (if you sign up before March 12; 12 hours after that deadline).

New badge rates: Trade show only: 1-day $115; 2-day $185. 3-day trade show plus lectures $245-295 (non-members). Skill-building workshops are extra.

Admission to the competitions (USBC, Cup Tasters and Brewers Cup), Barista Guild Brew Bar, and Opening Ceremonies (no trade show floor) will be only $10.
