Rocket R60V - Product Description wrote:The Rocket Espresso communication pod allows adjustments to be made through a remote controller or through the machine wifi system which will display real time temperatures, pressures and extraction times.
Built-in Wifi? Hehe :D I'm not sure if I dislike it or find it extremely appealing, lol.

I agree! I love ECM machines, more so than Rocket machines, because of all the details in the portafilter and grouphead as well as the push-levers instead of turn-knobs for steam and hot water. Also the simple fact that the gauges are on top, where they're easier to see, is also an example of how well-thought out these machines are. But the one thing has been that they lack dual boiler machines in consumer class price range. Now that's about to change! :D

Thanks for the news!
I found some stats here: http://www.bellabarista.co.uk/news/mila ... -espresso/
The Rocket Espresso Appartamento is a heat exchanger machine with a small footprint. The main features cosmetically that stand out are the circular side panel pattern inserts that comes in white or copper. It also has nice wide feet. Image below.

Other cosmetic details that differ from the R58 are the tulip shaped feet that sit the R60V slightly higher at 390mm. The branding on the back of the machine has the bold "Rocket" lettering which again looks striking.

The more recent ECM machines, IMO, just have a great aesthetic. I really like machines that have body panels that arent just a cut out piece of steel.

Perfect example would two machines I previously owned, the Anita and the Andreja Premium. Functionally pretty much identical, but the molded case of the Andreja was really nice to look at. I think this is true even more so of the ECM Technika Profi IV, and that picture(s) of the dual-75 PID looks great too.

Im interested in hearing more about the Rocket pressure profiling machine. Im glad we're starting to see more and more machines designed for the high end home market have this feature. I think everyone knows by know that pressure profiling isnt the end all answer to awesome espresso, but it still is something I for one really want to play around with.

Hmm. That doesn't look like a Bezzera chassis. I wonder if ECM is making the Dual-75 in Germany (like the Controvento).

Totally forgot the Mazzer ZM Filter with 83mm flat burrs (filter) compatible with all other Mazzer 83mm flat burrs.
Retaining ground according to the technician is 0,3g.

Frank, did they say what was new about the San Marco group? I see what looks like a thicker housing around the cylinder of the group and it's without the windows on the sides exposing the spring as well, but that's about it.

As to the Mazzer updates, that's nice to see. They'd only continue to loose ground to other innovative companies with newer and better refined equipment. I've been working too darn much to play with it much, but my Compak R120 has similar, low retention.
