Pretty much anything that starts with "Bring x quarts of water to a boil' gets the satisfaction of having a 14 liter boiler on tap at all times. Patron recently bought out 'Pyrat' rum. Not a rum guy, but dang is that stuff smooth and flowery. Nothing like the Bacardi stuff, more like an apertif. And, as far as I can tell, the only thing that Patron changed was the $60 price tag. To a $20 one! Split a doppio between two shotglasses, and add a bit of Pyrat, sit back and sip... ahhhh.

They actually come out very good - particularly with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top. Does tend to clog the steam wand though. Was the reason I finally stopped doing it.

I heard the steamed egg story from my son's father-in-law about 10 years ago. We tried it in the coffee house with a couple of eggs and chopped green chile. We toasted a bagel and put a few slices of cheese on it, spread the eggs on and topped it with salsa. It worked so well I bought an auxilliary Astra stand alone steamer and we serve lots of the plates every morning. The funniest story I've heard of misusing espresso equipment is the guy on ac years ago who found that if his pet parrot was getting a respiratory problem they would turn on the steam and spray it onto the floor where the bird was sitting. The bird would shower in the warm steam and he claimed it helped. I found that image hilarious.

like hal and bernie above, I think they're good. It does make a little mess of the wand though.

I've got an idea that a certain English lever fanatic uses his 3gr visacrem to steam veges. Hmmm. Veges . . . eggs . . . I wonder how bacon would turn out :D
cheers
