The three way Krups crappucino machines? Perfect mate to the Mypressi. It makes hot water, and it makes steam. Some of my favorite art was steamed on one o' those cheap lil machines. I felt all the better about it because it was made on a machine that sells for about ten bucks, used!

Thanks for this! I still can't get proper microfoam but at least I'm no longer wasting milk like I was. I still get bubbles on top of clear water. This is with the old Livietta and I stupidly plugged 3 of the 4 holes in the steam tip rather than plugging one at a time. Now I can't get the steam tip off to unplug it to try 2 or all 4 holes again.

So... do tell. What techniques have you found to be working for your set up?

thanks bluemanta, your enthusiasm has provoked me to try even harder to get some art done with my cuisinart. finaly this morning I got my first mediocre rosetta  . I reread the Milk Frothing Guide on CG and have been able to get the hang of surfing the hole on "froth aider". I'll get a picture up eventually on a better attempt if this thread ever lights up again. pretty darn psyched though....

Here is Rosetta no. 3 after finally being able to microfoam as good as is possible on a cuisinart machine! not great yet but soooooo on the right track. surfing the surface with the froth aider steam hole is the key, that and a cold pitcher. pretty psyched let me tell you.

Johnlyn: I apologize for my delayed reply.... haven't been here for a while and it was your PM that prompted me to visit again.

You are definitely on the right track. I completely understand how psyched you are as I went through the same process... ;-)

If I may suggest, it looks like your coffee tough is slightly too foamy. This is usually due to the coffee not being ground fine enough. Are you using a burr grinder or something else?

I have a breville that I modified and frankly it still does not grind fine enough. vario coming in december. you reckon that will affect the foam eh?
