I don't really think the 'polish' has any affect at all on the basket. At least I haven't noticed.

I agree, its an aesthetic choice for me.

Haha; my same thoughts. My daughter just turned 3 and loves to do my WDT and tamping which usually required some damage control afterwards.

I've used my LevTamp (traditional handle, black) for a couple of days. I love it! I never really had a problem doing a level tamp before, but it took a bit of technique, positioning the base in the basket level by feel with my fingers then applying pressure. The LevTamp doesn't require any technique, just put it on the basket and tamp. It's one less variable to worry about.

I had been using another tamper made for VST baskets, but it always left a tiny amount of coffee on the sides of the basket. The LevTamp tolerances are much better, not a speck of coffee on the sides. Nice job Denis!

Got my Levtamp in this week. Really like it so far! Using it with my CT1 and it works great. Very comfortable, operates smoothly, tamps easily and level.

Not quite as tight as I'd like (it's about the same as the stock tamper), but that's on me. Shoulda ordered 49.5mm.

You use it with the stock CT1 basket? Didn't work with mine. Basket was too shallow to work with the thick tamper base. Could only tamp it just far down enough to get the leveling plate to touch the top edge of the basket.

With room to spare. Using a 15g dose ground with the EG-1. I could probably do 16g or even 17g and still use the leveling. But I'm relatively certain it wouldn't work at all with the Bunnzilla, a dose took up way more volume for the same weight with it.

Huh, very strange. Maybe I should've tried again, but it didn't work for me with 16.5g dose out of a Mahlgut.

Kafatek LevTamp is the one and only tamper everyone should own. Mine arrived Thursday evening and I was blown away at the first use on Friday morning just how much my bottomless extraction improved. I was already happy with the KafaTek Bellisimo tamper; with it's sharp edge that really improved my sideseal. The LevTamp has the same size and profile base as Bellisimo and dummy proofs tamping. It is almost like cheating using this thing as there is no skill required.

I agree. I got Red one and it has displaced all my tampers. Its the only one I use.
