How many espressos do you prepare each day?

Investigate sealable plastic 1/2 pound bags. I'd pay an extra 50p per bag so I can just seal the 1-way valve and chuck in the freezer.

Ian's above post got me thinking.

After thinking about it, I suppose Ian is only drinking a small amount of espresso each day, and the post also has me wondering how many espresso or "espressi" does a home-barista consume or produce in an average day? Btw, Ian, how much and what size espresso to you prepare in an average day?

There are a few polls close to this subject matter but nothing about an average daily consumption. The archived polls for single baskets, sink shots and guest espresso gives some insight into consumption and behavior, but it's not exactly.

Do you think the following would be a good poll?

On an average day how much espresso do you prepare, including dial-in or sink shots? For the test of it, I drink the dial-in shots.

1 single-shot?
2 single-shots ?
3 or more single shots?

1 double-shot ?
2 double-shots ?
3 or more double-shots ?

1 triple-shot ?
2 triple-shots ?
3 or more triple shots?

Am sure it can be cleaned up a bit. Let me know what you think.

Hope you're having a good day,

TonyS

28gms/day weekdays, probably triple that on the weekends

But that's just espresso pulled on the Caravel. My wife has 2-3 caffe cremas per day from the Synchrony, so that's an additional 18-27gms a day (Synchrony is at max dose, which is 9gms per single shot). And I'm going through about 350gms/week at work on the Aeropress (a fair percentage of which is made for co-workers). So a little simple arithmetic gives us a total of ~850gms of coffee/week.

Dang! That's closing on two pounds a week.

I use on average about 80 grams a day, sometimes a little more. Weekends are a whole 'nuther story. Some weekends I'll go through as much as a pound.

3-4 doubles a day, very little waste, so 70-75 grams a day. (17g in the basket, usually no more than 2 grams waste, < 1g on average.)

Around 4-10 singles/ristrettos per day - and sometimes a few doubles/singles with/for my wife (she won't use the lever machines).

We get through around 0.5 kg per week.

Typically 2 or 3 doubles per day. Takes me about a week to 10 days to go through a 12 oz. bag of coffee.

Though 12 oz. bags work out OK for me, I'm not an everyday coffee drinker except when I've just bought a bag. Sometimes I skip a week or more. I'd buy more coffee if more vendors sold in half-pound bags.
All the coffee in Ethiopia won't make me a morning person.
