Have just started using the Sama Export I bought over the summer, and realizing that I needed a proper 45mm tamper, decided to make one. Sadly my 'making-of' pictures are on another camera, but here's the (almost) finished product. The base is stainless and handle is teak. Total cost, ~$6 of material + 2 hours of time. Let me know if you've got any questions!!

It is nice to see a new style of tamper! It should aid you to set the grind level with more precision using the flat rise of the piston as a gauge.
Many Happy Pulls!

Interesting shape and design... Have you had the chance to put it to the test?
