You should have an inch or two between the back of the drawers and the back wall, which will give you room to run the drain sloping down.

Slow at work today so I had some time to think about the filtration for my coffee bar. I made a quick diagram using visio. I think I'm going to order everything from Chris's Coffee. To his standard 3/8" filter kit I'll add one more shutoff valve and a "T" for the filter purge, a one-way check valve, and I think I can get away with only one elbow.

The sink arrived on Wednesday this weekend I'll cut the hole in the 3/4" plywood underlay to dry fit the sink then the granite fabricator comes by to measure and make the template.

As usual if you see something I've overlooked or completely messed up let me know.

Finally some progress. Yesterday the granite was installed, I have everything to complete the job just a matter of time now. I really look forward to having the Alex II plumbed in. Here's a picture taken from the kitchen to provide a little prospective of where the coffee bar is in relation to the kitchen. BTW the tiles standing up against the wall are covering the electrical outlet just trying to decide if two rows are enough.

any thought to a knock box that goes through the counter to trash bin underneath? could be to a tray like bottom of chafing dish.

Nope. No more holes in the granite, one for the faucet and one for the water supply/drip tray drain that's it. Dumping the knock box is not a major chore for me. Filling the reservoir and dumping the drip tray is a pain the rest I can deal with.

When it is all complete and the Alex II is in place I'll post another picture or two along with the filter/regulator setup.

Finally finished

Here's a couple of pictures. My wife is happy to have more space on the kitchen counter and I really happy to not have to refill the reservoir and the dreaded out of water alarm beep-beep-beep right in the middle of pulling a shot. Though I got pretty adept at keeping track of the number of shot since the last fill.





Now I need to find some coffee art work for the wall.

OK one last post to this thread.

I updated the water supply filter layout. Silly me thinking the input to the regulator/gauge would be from left to right so I didn't check and it didn't work. On further checking I found the correct orientation. Notice the gauge/regulator is upside down now. While at it I didn't like the kludge of JG elbows feeding the water control shutoff valve so I replaced that with a compression fitting equipped braided steel flex line and rerouted some other components. Now I'm happy

I would like to thank the forum members that provided input and suggestions along the way. Some useful insight. I did learn quite a bit about the process and if anyone is about to take this direction let me know I maybe able to help. Most of my filter components came from Chris's Coffee, I did find freshwatersystem.com an useful resource for John Guest fittings and other stuff.
