HB Second Anniversary Celebration!

Postby HB on Wed Apr 11, 2007 9:51 pm

It's that time of year again! On April 29th, the forums will be...

UPDATE: Sorry, the anniversary celebration deals are over!

Hard to believe it's already been two years. Last year's first anniversary celebration was quite popular, so the site sponsors are assembling another blowout of savings for HB members. The format will be slightly different this year. Since some of the discounts are on big ticket items, the announcement of the offers will be a full week in advance to allow time for "spousal approval."

Thanks for a great second year and thanks to the "friends of HB" for helping to celebrate it in style!

Dan, once again my sincere thanks for your efforts in creating and maintaining such a great coffee resource. Also lots of kudos to the many knowledgeable and helpful contributors to this site. Happy Birthday HB. See you Friday at CCC.

Cheers

This should be somewhat worrisome for a few folks... I take the "beg for forgiveness" versus the "ask for permission" approach most of the time. Not sure if that is good advice. YMMV!

Just yesterday, the missus queried "Why can't you just leave well enough alone?"

My riposte : "If I took that approach, I'd still be single."
Hopefully, she'll join me for dinner on our 35th wedding anniversary Sunday.

Jeff, Is there an echo somewhere? I've also tried to slip something into the espresso/coffee milieu, but never really got away with it either, ha! Seriously, I'd like to congratulate Dan and HB on their 2nd anniversary. Its been an entertaining and educational journey for me personally on my relatively short trip down the coffee road. With the help of HB and its many generous members, I liken it to a caffeine pusher, feeding my addiction much to the consternation of my significant other. I look forward to the announcements from the friends of HB, and many more anniversaries down the road...Thanks again!

When a big box arrives, I just tell the wife I ordered a couple of cups...and they came with a free grinder!

The last big box was an Elektra A3, I told her I ordered a bunch of espresso machine parts for a project. I forgot to mention they were already assembled.

HB has been and continues a treat and an authority for me. My birthday is April 30 but, unfortunately, I have 65 more years than HB. That, however, is better than the alternative. Since I joined, I have learned so much, gotten great, friendly advice and have grown so-o-o much in my appreciation and knowledge of outstanding espresso & coffees. Am looking forward to the celebration and hope to pick up some"deals". My very best to Dan, the stable of responsive vendors and my fellow members. Keep up the outstanding service. :D

Dan:

Thanks to you, and the group of experts you've assembled. We've all learned quite a bit and enhanced our enjoyment (obsession).

I'm very much the newbie, but this site has already given me plenty of info for both what my next machine will be, as well as the reasons I might have seen inconsistency over the past several years with my old machine (now broken).

I do think it's hilarious about buying things "under the radar," a similar problem I have with my other hobby. Now, I'll have to choose between p-stats or fuel injectors, bottomless PFs or bigger rear sway bar. As with performance driving, it does indeed seem that despite all the equipment one can buy for better coffee, usually the biggest improvements come from improving the human operator.
i migliori saluti,
