For many years I have limited myself to two 14g double shots per day. Sometimes 18g VST shots.

I just cut my testosterone dose in half and compensated by moving up to 4 double shots per day. Feel great. Low-T makes me very tired, espresso wakes me up and makes me very happy to be able to tastes more of this incredible fluid! Haven't told my doc yet though :-)

4 shots gluttony.... :shock:

I hope not or I am in trouble.

Weekdays: 2doubles 16gm, 16oz pour over, and after lunch 8oz....
Weekend: all bets off. Most days start with 4 doubles 16gm followed by the usual pour over.

My 2 group commercial unit stays on all weekend, 8 doubles a day is not uncommon for me. I do 5 or 6 doubles on a typical weekday.

I generally start a work day with a shot and a 6 oz. cap if I work lunch and have to be out by 10:30. If it's a weekend I on;y work dinner, I'm liable to be in for 3-4 shots and a cap or latte. I don't drink at night unless I'm out to eat or am having a coffee throwdown after work with our former-barista sous-chef who is from Israel an is still stuck in 1992 as far as espresso goes. But that's a topic for another day.

I'll drink a 1992 true Italian espresso over 3/4 of the stuff they sell as espresso in 3rd wave shops any day

There is always room for more good espresso in your diet. If you have the equipment it would be even more sad not to use it.

No question about that! But in true Russian/Israeli form, he may be the most inflexible and least willing to accept new things person I have ever met. He'll tell you that any espresso pulled with more or less than 14g is...well...not.

/threadjack -> one more 18g lungo.

I see where you are coming from. Interesting note on the 14g double Italian standard, it's more of an economic rule than anything else now. Coffee throughput in a coffee shop over there is so high that a doser calibrated to give out 8g instead of 7g eats onto margin significantly.

I personally usually go for a 15:30 or 16:32 brew ratio, I find it a good balance between body and aggressiveness
