www.compasscoffeeroasting.com: coffee is culinary

Foamy, one of my favourite web characters

Postby DaveC on Wed Feb 14, 2007 8:50 am

Reading a thread in the Tips and techniques section, there was a mention of how to order a particular drink and Starschmucks was mentioned. For anyone who has never seen these....I post the links (indulgently and non apologetically).

Coffee Humour (how to order coffee at Starschmucks)
http://www.illwillpress.com/coffeehouse.html ("COFFEE HOUSE PROPAGANDA")

Coffee Humour (more about coffee at Starschmucks)
http://www.illwillpress.com/sml.html ("SMALL MEDIUM LARGE")

More importantly, I have a Microsoft Zune that can play .WMV files and if any bright spark can find out how to get the movie/sound into .WMV format, I will be eternally grateful, as I like to watch them now and again for a good laugh and a reality check

Enjoy!

My McAfee site advisor has ****.com listed as red. It redirects to unsafe sites. The illwillpress site was ok.

Thanks for the heads up, I updated Dave's link to refer to the original source. It's funny, but note the language is not "work safe."

Ah...thanks for the tip, it shows as OK on my systems, but I will change the link on my own web site to the one Dan has used, it's better to be safe than sorry!

Super-C is free ware that converts video formats. The download is from a molasses server, so visit your local starschmucks while it's going on.

The program will convert any common video format to any other; but like most video and audio stuff, the programmers are way too cool to have a real window, or any sort of intelligible or controllable file handling. You have to right click at the magical spots (if you're cool, you'll know where) to do things like get files or save them. Also be prepared to use explorer to clean up the hash it makes of file names.

Tanks jim, I will give it a try. I am interested in all of that stuff anyway and it looks like an interesting bit of software. I have not come across it before so will post back how I get on.
