hola... a few years into successful espresso making through the help on this website - so thanks again!

i'm looking for an east coast subscription other than counter culture or fresco. only 2 requirements:
1) fantastic espresso
2) a bi-weekly option

any advice out there?

Kind of surpised you exclude Fresco. My other favorite is PTS Coffee which does have a subscription program. I like both their Gizmo and Bella Vita.

So, Greg, if I may ask . . . why bother with a subscription at all? Why not just order coffee from different roasters? I'm just curious.

TIA,
Jason

i find it extremely convenient and time-saving to have fresh coffee delivered regularly to my doorstep every 2wks (for a 3 or 6mos period), and only think about changing it up (or renewing) after that time is up. that way, i always have fresh coffee. if i have to order every 1-2weeks, i risk having several days without coffee (or spending more time deciding what to order every week or 2). for example, my CCC subscription just ran out, i bought 1lb of barrington espresso from joe's when i was in nyc, and after this morning, i will be dry until the next shipment i just ordered for from PT's. i'm just not on-the-ball enough to order before i go dry (better to have that happen once every 3mos, than every other week). the coffee is good enough at these roasters that getting the same kind for an extended period is more of a blessing than a curse.

i think sweetmaria's spoiled me... they had a subscription where i'd get a different/random blend every 2wks. that was great. even then, i would occasionally get a blend that was hard for me - but 2wks later they would send something new without me giving it any time or thought. they canceled that subscription completely because it was too popular, if you can believe that. what a business to have in this economy!

basically - it saves ordering time, and prevents dry-periods.
